Madayipara (Malayalam: മാടായി) Madayipara is a flat topped hillock located in the Madayi, of Kannur district of Kerala state in the Southern India. It is overlooking Payangadi town on the northern bank of Kuppam river. It is popular being the site of the Madayi Kavu (Thiruvar Kadu Bhagavathi Temple) of Goddess Kali, Shakthi, the Vadukunnu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The Shiva temple of Madayipara was razed by followers of Tippu Sultan in the 18th century. However, now it has been rebuilt. The area is also known for the Malik Ibn Dinar mosque, which is believed to have been originally built by Malik Ibn Dinar, a Muslim preacher. The remnants of a fort built also is present here, and the part is known as Kottakunnu.
